More Selective I Think

I look back on the models I've shot with over the past two years. One thing that jumps out at me: I'm still doing a lot of shooting but I'm shooting with the same group of models more often. My number of shoots is the same but the number of different models I'm shooting with has gone down significantly. Or to put it another way, while I still will take the time to shoot with a complete beginner or maybe a traveling model who I've heard great things about from friends (shooting with Tillie McReese or Melissa Troutt are both on my photography bucket list), I guess I'm more willing to find someone I love working with and then collaborate wit

It's been a while since I've posted in my journal here and I thought it made sense for me to post.
I haven't been doing nearly as much shooting this past 12 months as I'd like. But I've still gotten some great experiences with a bunch of different models. As I mentioned in my previous journal, a number of the models I've done lots of shoots with have retired for various reasons. And some new models have stepped up and become part of my regular shooting cadre. Plus two blasts from the past (Lovely Little Creature and Sie ist Idaho) have come out of retirement and I expect to shoot with each of these talented and amazing women within the

Better or Worse?

I once heard the performance artist Laurie Anderson say that there are really only two important questions: are things getting better or are they getting worse? (though I guess that's just one question).
And that got me thinking about whether or not I've gotten better or worse as a photographer. And I think I have an answer for that.
